Xenu's Link Sleuth (TM) checks Web sites for broken links. Link verification is done on "normal" links, images, frames, plug-ins, backgrounds, local image maps, style sheets, scripts and java applets. It displays a continously updated list of URLs which you can sort by different criteria. A report can be produced at any time. The Elated Web Toolbox is an an excellent Web design resource. Free buttons, bars, animated GIFs, bullets, backgrounds, clipart, stock photos and Adobe Photoshop actions are all included, plus free Web templates, which you can build an entire site with. Elated includes Web design tips, Photoshop tips, tutorials. No doubt a plus to any Web Master's kit.

Here's a nice free URL redirection service for Webmasters. Opt.To will turn a long Web site address (such as those provided by many free Web space providers) into a short and easy to remember URL. This service includes numerous domains to choose from, e.g. clan.to, killers.to, UT.to, COD.to, etc. Opt.To includes no pop-ups and functions via a fast redirection server.

This Webmaster related Web site provides a large directory of resources, ranging from Web site promotion services to remotely hosted content. They also have a nice selection of their own tools, which you can use to tweak your site and maintain its popularity. These include a meta tag generator, submitter, search engine ranker and even a free "webfeed" wizard. Now that's nice.

Provides both free and commercial services. Bpath offers free online polls, message boards, banner exchanges, guestbooks, hit counters, mail forms and lots more besides. They also provide a number of free tools to help you promote your Web site, such as the "tell a friend" site announcement service.

A completely free service that aims to attract more visitors to your site by means of a 4:3 ratio pop-under exchange. As a Webmaster, you would place a small piece of HTML code into your site, then display pop-unders for other 123exit members. In return, others using the service would display your pop-under and as a result, you begin recycling traffic.

This Web site is an entire directory of free affiliate programs that pay in GBP. Their ever-growing listings include affiliate surveys, banner programs, newsletters, tutorials and even hints and tips that give you genuine advice about affiliate schemes. They also have a forum where you can chat about associate programs in general and a completely free monthly newsletter.

One of my favourite Web sites for providing a whole bag full of Webmaster goodies. Alxnet.com offers a free guestbook service, news feeder, web poll, traffic booster and an Internet quiz that will keep your visitors entertained. Note: English, Norwegian and Swedish translations.

Commission Junction is a large affiliate program network, listing hundreds of schemes that you can add to your Web site. All earnings made are tracked and updated in the CJ control panel, which also allows you to search for other programs using keywords or advertiser names.

Here's one of the more reliable affiliate networks. Cyber Bounty nearly always have a wide variety of offers to promote, and allow you to choose from a variety of banner adverts and buttons for each program. Your personal control panel tracks total revenue, banner clicks and the dates that cheques were sent out. The only glitch we've found is they don't host ad-images for you.
